How to add Service Charges
This article explains how to create and manage Service Charges in the Control Panel. Service Charges are fixed additional amounts that can be applied to products or services during billing and are posted to a specific ledger.
🧭 What Service Charges Are Used For in Helix
Service Charges are used to represent fixed charges added on top of a base price, such as:

Administrative charges

Processing fees

Regulatory or handling charges
They are:

Defined centrally

Linked to a dedicated ledger

Applied selectively to products or services

Control Panel → Finance → Service Charges
➕ Adding a Service Charge

Click + Add (top-right)

Enter:

Code (internal reference)
-
Description
-
Value (fixed amount)

Link the appropriate Ledger

The ledger must already exist in the Chart of Accounts

Click Submit
Repeat the same steps to add more service charges.
