How to Configure Notifications(Automated Reminders)
This article explains how to configure automated appointment-related notifications in the Calendar section of the Control Panel. Notifications help keep patients informed about bookings, reminders, updates, and other appointment events.

🧩 What Notifications Are Used For
Helix allows you to automate up to 10 notification types, which can be sent via:

WhatsApp (if Meta Business integration is active), or

SMS, depending on your setup
🔔 Available Notification Types
| Notification Type | Description |
|---|---|
| 📅 Booking Confirmation | Sent immediately when a new appointment is booked |
| ✏️ Booking Update | Sent when appointment details are edited |
| ⏰ 24-Hour Reminder | Reminder sent 24 hours before the appointment |
| ⏳ 48-Hour Reminder | Reminder sent 48 hours before the appointment |
| 📆 One-Week Reminder | Reminder sent 7 days before the appointment |
| 🎂 Birthday Messages | Sent 1 day or 1 week before the patient’s birthday |
| 🏥 On Discharge | Sent when the patient is discharged |
| 🚫 Cancelled / No-Show | Sent for cancelled or no-show appointments |
⚙️ How to Configure Notifications

Open the Notifications tab

Turn ON the switch for each notification you want to enable

For each enabled notification:

Click the Template dropdown

Select the relevant:

WhatsApp template
(configured under CRM → Social Media Manager → WhatsApp), or -
SMS template
(configured under Control Panel → Templates)

Click Confirm to save
🔄 Apply the Changes

Ask reception users to log out and log back in for notifications to apply
💡 Tips

WhatsApp should be prioritized over SMS if both integrations are available

Keep only necessary notifications enabled to avoid over-communication

Test templates with one staff member before enabling clinic-wide automation
